Megan's success at Horne Park
Megan Amis, a member of Tyrrells Wood Golf Club and a pupil of Therefield School entered her first Junior Open competition on Saturday. Megan who recently celebrated her 13th birthday took on a field of 48 boys in the Horne Park Junior Open and despite the strong gusting winds and driving rain Megan went on to win the Hurring Trophy for the best Net score, Megan was 3 shots clear with 59. Megan was delighted to be the first girl to ever win the Hurring trophy. Horne Park Golf Club situated in South Godstone was in great shape given the weather conditions. Megan said that she was careful to avoid the many hazards on the course, and played well because she drove the ball very well off the tee and had a good day on the greens. Megan is part of the Surrey Futures squad, which she believes has helped her game.
