English Girls Championships

This week the English Girls Championships are being held at Market Rasen Golf Club and Seacroft Golf Club in Lincolnshire.
The U18's are being held at Seacroft golf club on an extended course measuring in excess of 6100 yards. Two Surrey girls are competing Daisy May Kenny, Cuddington, and Jessica Sewell from Wentworth. Daisy May is currently in tied 9th place after an excellent opening round of 73, 3 over par. Jessica is a bit further down the table after an 89, unfortunately finding a bit of trouble on the back nine. Both girls play their second 18 today at which point a cut is made. The top 40 and ties will go on to play 36 holes to decide the championship on the final day.

In the U15's event which is being held at Market Rasen, Sana Tufail, Woking, Shannon Flynn, Burhill and Inci Mehmet, Wentworth are all competing. Sana shot a 77 and is in tied 9th place, whilst Shannon and Inci both shot 78 and are in a tie for 13th place. Once again the girls will play their second round today at which point the cut will come. The top 36 players and ties will make the cut and play 36 holes on the final day.

In the U13's event, also being held at Market Rasen, Samantha Fuller, Roehampton, Chloe Nicholls, Bramley and Lizzie Prior, Foxhills are competing. Samantha Fuller is in joint first place after scoring a 4 over par 77, which included a birdie on the last. Lizzie is in a tie for 16th place after an 88 whilst Chloe is 21st place after a 90. The girls again play another round after which a cut is made for the top 18 players who then play a final 18 holes to determine the champion.
