Surrey Girls win the Arlesford Cup

Congratulations to the Surrey Girls team of Fiona Stannard, Captain, Megan Amis, Abby Audsley, Danielle Ferry, Charlotte Fryer and Daisy Macve who won the Arlesford Cup on Sunday 27th September.
The Arlesford Cup was introduced five years ago to encourage girls golf and to provide a competition for a mixed range of handicaps. Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey are all invited to enter teams of six to compete for the Arlesford Cup. The format of the competition is stableford with the top 4 scores from each county going forward, and scores 5 and 6 being held back incase of ties. Surrey's top scorers were Abby, Danielle and Megan who each managed a very impressive 38 points, Fiona's score of 33 points ensured Surrey won by 3 points from Essex. Daisy and Charlotte also scored well, but no ties were necessary this year.
A huge thank you must go to Hampshire and the members of Arlesford Golf Club for hosting this event. They do so much for junior golf and it is very much appreciated. It was a glorious day, with lots of spectators around to create a friendly competitive atmosphere. Thank you so much, and congratulations to the girls on a great performance. |
